Fracking (hydraulic fracturing) has been in the New Zealand news quite a bit in recent times. If you haven’t heard about fracking, you’re not alone: a recent study in the US found that 63% of respondents had never heard of or were not familiar with hydraulic fracturing. Let’s go nuclear!

Since yesterday (14 April 2012) was the 30 year anniversary of Wellington (New Zealand) being nuclear-free, I thought it would be fitting to do a post looking at nuclear power, and all the reasons why it’s not the solution to the energy crisis.
